Miyeon Kim is 17??? It’s very confusing because she’s from South Korea and so she’s either 18 or 17 because South Korea says you’re one when you’re born. She lives in Sigtuna.

Cana Straub. 18. Sings like an angel. I share all of my weird quirks with her. If you meet her, you’ll be like “DEJA VU!”  The only other person besides my dad that I email at three in the morning with existential questions.

Jaylah Pennau. 17. Crazy awesome dancer. More stylish than a Swede. Creative beyond belief. Probably the most socially intelligent of all of us. She’s extremely thoughtful and insightful and will tell you just what she’s thinking. She’s always ready to cheer you up with a funny story or a snide remark.

Keenan Gerred. 18. Funniest guy I know. He’s my neighbor and if I ever have a question I walk over to his house and he’ll almost always let me in so that I can ask it. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent at his kitchen counter annoying him, and he never once made through on his threat to send me home. Patience of a saint.

This is Keenan’s mom. She the Director of Administration of our City and she’s super funny and cool and I just thought I should put her in here because I see her as often as I see Keenan. She’s not just a regular mom, she’s a cool mom. Mrs. Gerred, you’re totally invited to my wedding. You can even be a bridesmaid if you want!

Jenna Rosenthal. 18. Let me tell you about this girl. This girl is the reason I passed Spanish and math class. She is so freaking good at explaining things and never ever ever tells you you’re stupid because she’s extremely humble and extremely real. She’s the number one athlete at our school and pays no mind to her haters and she’s a mega nerd and always has a witty remark that will leave your mouth hanging open.

Elijah Steven Waters. 18. This boy is in a relationship with deer. I swear to god. He’s a total cutie patootie and isn’t embarrassed by anything because why should he be? My freshman and sophomore year he tutored me in in math and I really owe him my high school career because I don’t think I would have passed at all without him coming in early and staying up late to explain things to me. He’s going to be an Environmental Scientist when he grows up and save the world.

Kivilcim (Ollie) has been my pen pal for a billion years. I don’t know why her photo is so teeny tiny. She is a gemini and lives in Ankara, Turkey and goes to school even on the weekends which makes me sad because it makes her sad and she just wants to go be a Doctor Without Borders but being a doctor is hard, and so her life is hard. We are best friends forever and ever.

Ryan doesn’t read this blog, so it doesn’t matter what kind of photo I post of him. He is my ex-pen pal and favorite Illinoisan. He’s 18 and is the biggest dork in Streamwood, Illinois. His best friend is a girl from my school named Caitlyn and I like to think I’m his best friend too.

Laura Beth is my mum and she works in inventory and purchasing at a fabric place and she’s totally the best mom in the entire world. Sorry to all other moms reading this. You lost the competition. It’s okay, with my mom in the race it wasn’t really fair to any of you. Never really had a chance to start with, eh?

Jim Jim Jim Jimmy James is my father and he is 47. I’m sorry I lied to you all and said he was 42, but I totally forgot about those other five years. Sorry dad. If it helps, I don’t even know when any of my friends birthdays are and I sometimes forget my brother’s. So, I’m a terrible person all the way around and it isn’t just you. My dad works as a corrections officer and I really want to video chat him so that we can do the crossword puzzles of the newspaper together, so if you’re reading this dad, you should go grab the newspaper and call me.

Nicholas (Nick) (Nicky-Poo) is my older brother. He is 20 years old and lives in Texas where he goes to college. He’s super smart and snarky and he has memorized the names and stats and life story of every athlete ever. He’s rainman when it comes to that stuff, I swear to you.

He’s going to be an Eternal Scout one of these days (the step right above Fear Scout). He does the video game thing like most teenage boys and he JUST GOT HIS LICENSE I’M SO PROUD OF HIM BECAUSE NOW I DON’T HAVE TO DRIVE ANYMORE AND HE CAN TAKE ME PLACES!!!

This is my choir teacher from back at Fondy High. He won some prestigious award declaring him the best director in the country and so he really makes me nervous because his opinion of you matters more than your own mother’s.
